This procedure produces a layer of copper on a component by running an electric current through an alkaline or acid bath that it is immersed in.

    Process Approvals

    		For Copper Plating we adhere to:
  • MIL-C-14450 (replaced by AMS 2418): Copper Plating (Electrodeposited)

    • Material

    		Copper

    Base Materials Worked

    		All conductive metals.

    Plating Class

    		Plating thickness depends on the Class Required:
  • Class 0 = 0.001 - 0.005" thick
  • Class 1 = 0.0010" thick (min.)
  • Class 2 = 0.0005" thick (min.)
  • Class 3 = 0.0002" thick (min.)
  • Class 4 = 0.0001" thick (min.)

    • Automation

    		All copper plating processes are performed manually to ensure the proper care is given to each step.

    Additional Operations

    		We offer several additional operations that may be required for your product: Cleaning, Magnetic Particle Inspection (NDT), Penetrant Inspection (NDT), Hardness & Conductivity Testing (NDT), Dry Film/Solid Film Lubricants and Primer & Topcoat Painting.

    		All plating processes are subject to our rigorous Quality Assurance process. All work is reviewed and inspected to be in compliance with the specification (Process Approval requested).
